Guest Cottage Arrival and Departure Information

Upon arrival and on departure, please be considerate of the following guidelines.

Arrival:  Arrival time no earlier than 3:00 pm.

1.  The same key fits both the turn knob and the deadbolt of both front and rear doors as well as the storage unit under the house of the specific unit you are visiting.

2.  If you have ordered linens with your stay, the linens will be in the house when you arrive including bed sheets and pillowcases, bath linens, and kitchen linens.

3.  If you plan to bring your own linens, please be advised that bed pillows, comforters, and blankets are all provided. Pillowcases are not provided without linen service.

4.  Upon arrival, the heat and air may be turned on heat at 55 degrees. When setting a comfortable temperature, the heat setting should be around 65 degrees. When air conditioning is required, a comfortable setting should be around 75-78 degrees. (Please note that turning the air conditioning down to a much colder temperature is not going to cool the house any faster.)

5.  If bathrooms do not fill when you first get there, check the valve on the left side under the tank to make sure water is not turned off. (In off-season, or during slow rental periods, the valves are sometimes turned off to safety purposes).



Upon arrival, the water may be turned off to the bathroom. If they do not flush on the first try, turn the water valve under the left hand side counter-clockwise to turn the water on. Please do not re-arrange furniture within rooms or move furniture from room to room. In preparation for departure, please turn the heat and air conditioning thermostat control to the heat position and put on 55 degrees. Upon departure please remove all garbage and open food and place it in the gray garbage container under the house. All dirty dishes should be loaded into the dishwasher and the dishwasher turned on. If you have rented linens, all dirty bed and bath linens should be taken from the beds and placed neatly in the kitchen floor by the back door. The cleaning lady will be in immediately after your 10:00 AM departure time for cleaning. Please be considerate of the next vacationer visiting and leave the house in the same fashion you would want to find it.





Departure:  Departure time no later than 10:00 am.

1.  All garbage cans should be emptied and garbage placed in gray garbage container under the unit.

2.  All left over food products (excluding refrigerated condiments) should be removed from the unit and placed in garbage bags in the gray garbage container under the unit.

3.  All dirty dishes should be placed in dish washer and dishwasher started for automatic washing.

4.  If a linen service was provided, remove all bed and bath linens and put in the original plastic bags and place in the kitchen floor (please do not leave them on hardwood or carpet).

5.  If you brought your own linens, please make sure they are removed and in your possession.

6.  If windows have been opened during your stay, please assure they are closed before your departure.

7.  Please turn heat and air conditioning control to the heat conditioning setting and place on 55 degrees.

8.  Please turn off all interior lights.

9.  Upon departure, assure that all locks and deadbolt locks (including storage room) are secured and place the keys in a padded or priority service envelope and mail back to the pre-addressed location.
